In 2002, the Grind-All company began like so many start-ups do: in a spare bedroom of founder Michael Zatelli’s apartment. Previously a sales representative for concrete grinding equipment, Michael worked diligently to scrape up funds to finance the fledgling business and educate potential clients on the benefits of his two-step grinding process. The business was an instant hit and the company grew at an astonishing rate that even the bankers could not understand, telling Michael that this was such a rare and unique service that they didn’t have a business formula to explain the growth to the underwriters when he went to establish a line of credit.
